Rhino Bridge Fees: How the Quote Sets Your Received Amount
Rhino Bridge quotes separate the amount sent from the amount received and itemise fees, so the selected quote mode and live route determine the useful comparison.

Rhino Bridge fees reduce the amount that reaches the destination when the quote fixes what you pay, while a quote that fixes what you receive can require a larger payment. The quote reports both payAmount and receiveAmount, alongside a fee breakdown. For a closer look at which assets a route delivers, see Rhino Bridge native-asset routes. The key is to compare the amount that matches your goal, not just the headline fee.
How does Rhino Bridge calculate the received amount?
The quote pairs a source-chain input with an estimated destination-chain output and reports the fees associated with that route. Its public quote fields include a total fee and components such as gasFee, sourceGasFee, platformFee and percentageFee. The response also includes percentageFeeAmount and percentageFeeThreshold, which indicate that percentage charges may depend on an amount or threshold. The documentation does not state a universal fee formula, so do not assume every component applies to every route.
For a bridge without a swap, the quoted receiveAmount is the practical estimate of what arrives in the selected token. A bridge-and-swap quote can use different input and output tokens, so the destination amount reflects the route’s conversion as well as its fees. Read the token, source chain and destination chain beside the amount; a fee in one token cannot be compared directly with a fee in another without converting its value.
What is the difference between pay and receive mode?
pay mode fixes the exact amount to pay, including fees, and calculates the expected amount to receive. receive mode fixes the amount to receive and calculates the payment required. These are two ways of solving the same quote, not two separate fee schedules.
Use pay mode when you have a fixed balance or spending limit on the source chain. Use receive mode when a destination amount is the requirement, such as funding a known transaction. Compare quotes with the same mode, token pair, route and wallet context. A pay-mode quote for a chosen input is not directly comparable with a receive-mode quote for a chosen output.
Which fee fields should you inspect?
Start with the quoted input and output, then inspect the breakdown. The fields show which costs the quote reports; they do not, by themselves, guarantee that every charge is deducted from the bridged token in the same way.
- Fee: the reported overall fee. Check how it relates to the listed components before adding anything manually.
- Gas fee and source gas fee: reported gas-related amounts. Source-chain transaction gas may also be paid by the wallet separately, so distinguish it from deductions shown in the token quote.
- Platform fee and percentage fee: reported service and rate-based components. Check the amount and threshold fields where provided.
- Sponsored fees: a separate breakdown when sponsorship applies. Compare it with the ordinary fee fields to see which costs the quote identifies as sponsored.
Use the quoted receiveAmount as the main comparison when deciding between otherwise suitable routes. A low named fee does not establish a better deal if the output is lower. Quotes can change with the route and transaction conditions; review the current quote immediately before confirming.
What remains uncertain before sending?
A quote is an estimate tied to its route and parameters, not proof of the final delivered amount. Confirm the displayed token, destination chain, recipient and receive amount before signing. If the transaction completes, compare the destination balance with the bridge record rather than inferring delivery from the source-chain payment alone.
Rhino.fi’s current notice says its retail offering was deprecated at the end of August 2026. The fee fields explain how its quote represents payment, output and costs; they do not confirm that a retail route is currently available. The useful rule is simple: choose pay mode for a fixed source spend, receive mode for a fixed destination amount, and judge the route by its quoted output and full fee breakdown.
